There was a new run of WW 32/40 brass within the last year, I just measured one and it wasn't quite even, measured 2.118-2.120 so it's pretty close as is.

When I used Star-line 38-55 long  to make 32-40 it stretched about .035 if I remember correctly. Making it into 25-36 marlin stretched it to 2.165.
If your looking to fit a longer chamber neck the 2.12 Star-line will add some length when sizing down to a smaller caliber. The 2.08 will size down and stretche to around a 2.115 length.

Here are some numbers that might be useful.  I recently ran a few Starline .38-55 long cases through my .32-40 sizer die.

Before:  length -> 2.125",  case mouth thickness -> 0.072"
After: length -> 2.170", case mouth thickness -> 0.087"

Chris.

Thanks Old Soldier. I am looking for lengthened Brass for a friend who has bought a  .33 caliber slug gun by Bresien. It has been re-chambered by some one way to deep. About a 3/8" leap between the end of the case and the Rifling with no throat of any type. Trying to find some brass long enough to get the Powder charge out far enough to be right at the base. Guy wants to shoot Black and I am uncomfortable with having a major gap. As the rifle is it has a bright, Shiny, perfect bore. So should shoot but it does not. He is used to Slug Gun accuracy and does not want to shorten to re-chamber. So we are looking for either 32-40 or 38-55 stretched to try making it shoot. It is a 16" twist and that would be correct for a bullet around the 200 Gr. weight. I think I have found a couple of sources. Again Thanks. FITZ, OLD TUCK Smiley

If it is a slug gun, simply make a chamber cast, including a bit of the bore & rifling.  Then turn a couple of cases out of cartridge brass. Heavy walls & undersized powder space should be OK.  It's a slug gun.  That's all he needs.

Fitz, you might try the 9.3x74R brass shortened. It's almost identical base diameter, and rim is slightly different, but may work depending on the recess. If it didn't fit it well the rims could be turned down slightly. It can be shortened to fit perfectly, but may need the necks thinned slightly. But at least he would end up with brass that was a perfect fit for the chamber, and better for BP loads.

Thanks Vall. I have 9.374R brass. Some brand new stuff Nosler. Many years ago when I got my Mid Rang Borchardt that was the suggested brass. Ordered 100 rds
and it came with Berdan primers. Kind of got my attention, and have never even tried to use it. Recently bought the Nosler and it came with Boxer primers. Still trying to work with this guy but he is stubborn and wants to shoot it as a .33-47
but the chamber is way to long. The shame is that the Barrel is a Brezien and is a beautiful inside. He refuses to consider having it set back and re-chambered. As it is a 33-47 case leaves a 3/8" jump to the rifling with  16" twist So I am kind of backing off for the moment. Regards, FITZ. OLD TUCK Cry

I would like to know more about this slug gun.  I never saw a breech-loading slug gun.

I've seen several ml/bl target rifles, but never a pic of a modern bench rifle.

Norman Brockway made a .34 slug gun on a Farrow action back about 1886 or 1887.  That one used lathe-turned steel cases.
