Hand de-capper

I saw some older discussion of these, but currently who manufactures one that is comfortable to use and will do a 45 2..4" case. The Frankford Arsenal one says .338 lapua is max, and CPA @$150 is more than I would like to spend. So looking for a option here.
thanks

Very crude, but it worked well for it's intended purpose back when I was shooting BPCR Silhouette.

Easy to make and you can spend as much time as you like making a nicer looking one.

Are you wanting a De-Capper only or a Re-and De.

They are de capper's only and I'm not sure of the total length you can do but you might be able to get hold of Neil Jones. They work pretty well.

From what 2 members have shown as a solution, I may have to make one. Looks like both are primarily drill rod. The Frankford arsenal style look interesting to me at first glance.

Have made several of of these de-cappers from bent up sheet metal and a little machining.
They work pretty well, any length and caliber specific.
Don't sell them, but drawings are available.

Price to me seems to be very fair and a very nice looking tool for the money.

Thanks every one for the options. I watched the Harvey video, seems to be somewhat difficult to get the pin centered, rod needs a bushing the id of the case?

Jerry,
I like the simplicity of yours I'll have to make one for the 50's and maybe the 38's.
KW,
Here's what I made to fit the 45's, 44's and 40's and it was long enough to do a 110.

I'm seeing some yankee ingenuity here!  Time to dig around my scrap pile. Was going to have a look at modifying an old saw set tool I have as it already has comfortable handles.

KW,
I saw a picture of one of these once, had some junky import pliers, a cut off wheel on the die grinder and some brazing rod this is what happened.  The yank in me came out (happened to be working for a British company at the time too so that was a common phrase). Grin

I did call Frankford arsenal and was told the hand de-primer comes with a collet "set" and is capable of doing 45-90. Maybe that is correct and maybe not, the guy in the phone was a little confused when I said long BPCR cases. They're on sale now at  $39.

I use the later lighter aluminum Lyman 310 handles (for rifle calibers) along with the 310 universal decapping die to deprime my 45 2.4" brass.
