.40-65 smokeless loads

I’ve got a Cody Ballard .40-65 that I’ve shot duplex (and straight BP) in BPCR. I might use it for Schuetzen Class II. Perhaps someone might care to share a smokeless load with me.

Merry Christmas. 🎄

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I've got several .40-65 Ballard and Rolling Block rifles. My favorite load is a 330 gr. RCBS CSA bullet with 22.0 grs. of 4198. Good to 1,000 yds.

My smokeless friends use 21 grains of 5744 or buffalo rifle.
One swears by 21 grains of H4198 w
All with a 400 grain bullet.
