Gun show find

It's not a HW, a Ballard, Farrow, Sharps or any of the "conventional"  single shots that I pursue but it was meant to be.    A local show this weekend I was hesitating to go to, after the Tulsa show this little one lends to frustration - usually.  I took very limited funds with me as I expected very little... you never know.
Except for minor surface rust, the action is very tight, everything functions smoothly, a very sweet Enfield Martini and it's labeled in a caliber I don't have - 303 Brit.  So it appears like I have another rainy day project (we've had an extraordinary year of rainy days here so I had to throw that in  Grin

Is that a Vickerman seating die above the Martini?  I have a couple of those too!

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...

Good find. 303 is a great caliber. SMLE barrels are the same thread, I don’t know about length or extractor cut. May be a way to get it rebarredled.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Looking forward to seeing what you build from this Martini, and what you do to the trigger to get it down to a reasonable pull.

Reverend,
It is a Vickerman's and it was in a bargain box - have several of these and Meacham's plus a couple I struggled through (made) in the early years - didn't leave any for grinding after removing half the diameter-  you're trying to stay within tenths and it runs within tens.   Angry
Val,
The trigger isn't too bad now, that got my attention first - crisp with little creep.
