I've seen those antlers in Rich$'s garage but I don't recognize the guy in the picture. Could be that the picture is a year or two old.  Wink

That's a really great rack Rich! But an equally impressive body too! Bet that was fun to pack out!

Yes Marlinguy, it was a load to pack out(4 miles to camp). Mostly down hill with myself and 2 younger guys, so not to bad. Jerry H. is right in that a few years and pounds have been added since the hunt. The best part of the hunt was it was recorded on tape with a telephoto lens from about a mile away.

Not often we get the chance to tape a hunt and get successful too! I rarely got pictures even, unless somebody else had a camera and was with me.

I've taken 2 does with this ML (no pictures of the does - they all look alike). It is a Westley Richards 1869 patent so- called "Improved Martini", although it predates the Martini, originally in 500-450 No 2 Musket. It could be considered a "Hammerless Peabody" except that it has an internal hammer with integral firing pin. The chamber was fitted with a soldered in "cartridge" with a bore diameter hole in the front and a recess for a 209 primer in the rear. The bullet used was the 45 caliber Lee target Minie which cuts a clean hole all the way through. Note: all this occurred back in the 60s when this brass was unobtanium. Also, the rifle only cost $10 back then.

I think the moderator is a relocated Yooper. He moved South. Once a Yooper always a Yooper no matter how hard you try not to be.

This all proves to me that Yoopers are not the sharpest pencils in the box even when they have attained the high position of ASSRA moderator. More like Yooperator.
