This is strange, one photo taken indoors which gives it a blueish tinge and the other outdoors.

I'd guess it's what's left of an H&R shotgun; and since the trigger guard is ferrous, I'd also guess it's at least pre-WWII.

Rev.'s right.  Start with no finer than No. 80 grit and you'll either quickly have it down to shiny metal or nothing!   Wink

Never mind all the metal prep work, just slosh some cold blue on the barrel and re-case color the action and call it good-to-go Wink
