What Is It For

A friend just dropped this off anyone happen to know what it might used fore. The diameter appears to be around .548 and could possibly be for a slug gun I really do not have a clue. I also don't have any use for it and the bottom plate also seems to be missing of which I could easily replace if it was just meant to being flat. Might have also been made to cast a hollow base bullet and the Mould blocks appear to have been made by David Mos and also not ever being used?

I once had a Sharps carbine that used a bullet similar to that, only that the bullet had a hollow base. I would assume that there might be a plug that would somehow fit in the bottom, so that it would cast a hollow base bullet.  Tongue

If someone can show me what the bottom plate looks like? I am pretty confident that I can make it so the mould can become useful to someone that might be possibly in need.

Hi John,

Here's a picture of a complete mould for a Minie Bullet.
