And I have an old Pacific, a new Redding, and a drill press Lyman. Used to have a Wilson 40 years ago but the specific holders were a pain.

The RCBS is a copy of the Forster, and I checked, both are about the same price at Midway, so I would just flip a coin. KRAG

I have 2 Forsters and a Wilson. the forster is easily opened up for a 45-70 rim, Pilots are also easy to make. The wilson is a nice trimmer as you dont need pilots and the bushings can be easily purchased for common calibers. You can make your own with a lathe, they are not that hard, just match the taper on the case. The Forster can accomidate a variety of case lengths as both the front and rear can be moved, not so with the Wilson. Best thing to do it hit a few gun shows, they are often available at shows at a respectable savings.
I picked up the Wilson to use on 44-77 cases, The forster will not work as they don't have a collet that size unless you go the route of a custom one. I made my own guide bushing for the wilson from 1" aluminum. it works just fine. It did take me 2 trys to get it just right. I little bit on a taper goes a long way.
YMMV

I have a Lyman, Forster, and Wilson and prefer the Wilson over the others.

My Forster does what I need it to do.

Indeed. Found it much easier to use than the Wilson, so the Wilson moved to a new home.

I started out with a Forster and it works great.  Eventually I bought another one with a short base for shorter cartridges (the one I had was the long base for full sized cartridges) and then another short based trimmer that I converted with their cutter and pilot as a dedicated trimmer to trim my .17 Remington cases.  Lastly I bought their drill press power trimmer unit for trimming large volumes of cases quickly.  Now all of my trimmers take all of my collets and pilots interchangeably and can trim everything I shoot.  The cost was reasonable since I bought all three bench trimmers and the drill press adaptor used.  Just my 2 cents worth ...

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...

I use the Wilson, set up vertically in a small table-top drill press.  Will post pix.  It's fast and easy.
