I'll try not to be too graphic with the photos... 
One of my clients has a severe prairie dog problem, the regulated use of poisons (due to raptors, birds of prey, stock, etc.) limits how much it really accomplishes plus the stock he runs, time issues, most of us understand how the story goes...      
We finally did what we said we would and made it out for a part of a day.  The number of kills and maims were fairly high as the arsenal included a number of different weapons but the ones that brought the greatest satisfaction were the shots made with vintage firearms... Pictured was a kill with a #3 Ballard - the distance for one was only about 85 yards and the other about 105 yards but managed a few in excess of 220 yards.  My other vintage configuration was a '74 Shiloh with a fast twist liner also, kills with it weren't quite as high - it only has iron sights and I struggled getting on these little targets 

Dont look now but some rodent ate the forearm!     Great hunt.   Tom
