That is real nice to see. Instead of on the couch with an I-pad.  Had to have been a great day.  Dale.

Took my 10-11 year old grandson to the Colorado State Muzzle Loading matches.
Using my .38 caliber RB rifle, 47/48 of 50 was no problem. Better than the proud Grandpa could do.
Loaded for him the first few shots, "Pop-Pop, I can do that."
Still holds the sub-junior records AFAIK.
He is grown now and no great interest in target shooting, but the old man has to brag.

oughtsix, grandkids is what makes putting up with your own teenages worthwhile.  Good luck on getting it going.

Speaking of Grandsons, I have one serving in Africa in the Navy now.  Work, school, remodeling his house and Navy doesn't leave much time for shooting these days.  When he was about 10, I had a Trapdoor match at 200 and 600 yards.  A bit much for him at that age, but he wanted to take a whack at the buffalo head king target with his mom's Chipmunk.  200 yards offhand I told him to hold a couple feet high.  He hit about 12 inches from the center! Shocked with a .22 zeroed for 50 yards shooting offhand Grin

When he was about 12, shooting my BSA .22, he won 2nd in a 20 shot BR match.  A nationally competitive inside the ring shooter was 3rd ! Cheesy  That was his first TRR medal.

When he was about 14ish, he was 2nd on the 200 yard King target shooting my Stevens-Pope Ballard .33-47.  I won it, so he got it  Roll Eyes

When he has time, he would make a good schuetzen shooter  Cool

I couldn't agree more about Grand kids. Mine complained about visiting in the Summer because the power kept going off during their visit. That was years ago, they have learned since then about the main shut off on breaker boxes.

Way Cool! This is how our young folks should be being taught while growing up.
