This NOE will do well in your barrel. It will be a little tight but, should shoot well. You can also run it through a .318 or .319 sizing die and it would be just right.

I did not see that one so thanks frank.  the .3177 has me a little stumped as everything is .321 or larger in bullet designs and manufacturers I had anticipated trying   Not opposed to sizing just had not planned on it.  Don't want to put a cheater bar extension on my weber seating tool Tongue

I would look at the scores in the match results section, pick all of the tops three shooters, send them PM's and then pick their Brains if you are real serious about receiving the very best of information and not just opinions.

With a 14 twist barrel, I would want to use a heavier bullet - maybe 215 grains or so?  Maybe Schuetzendave will run some numbers on heavier bullets for you..........

Well, I think French was one of the top 3 shooters in the Golden Age and that IS a copy of French's bullet.

If you end up needing to size your bullets a thou or so, you can pan lube them and size them with a push-through die. Lee Precision has dies at a reasonable price and they mount to your loading press. If their standard sizes don't meet you needs, they offer custom service to make a die to your specifications. I have used several and they all have been dead-on to my size specs and truly round.
Good luck

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.
