My B-78 in 25-06 was my go to hunting rifle for 15 years until I got a Stevens 44 1/2 in 25/35.  I did use a B-78 in 300 h&h this year to take a cow elk.  I also have one in 6mm Remington.  All are great shooters.  Tom

Tom I once met a fellow who collected every B78 Chambering ever made and myself being a huge fan of the 6MM for hunting purposes I thank you for sharing it and in my own book it is one of the very of best choices. Unfortunately when Remington first came out with it as being a Varmint cartridge with the twist rate to go with it. Winchester took full advantage of that error and changed the twist rate and came out with the 243 and leaving those who did not know the same change was finally made and now called the 6MM instead of I believe it was the 244 leaving them way behind in sales all though Rem. did end up with having the better overall design.

My B-78 is in 22-250.
It was a present from Browning.
