This picture is probably not schuetzen related, but I like it.  He makes me feel skinny!
The original picture was supplied by someone from Comfort, Texas, about 50 miles north of San Antonio.  No dates.

He appears to be holding a Winchester 1885 High Wall.  Notice the livestock, picnic table and wagons in the background.

Not to mention the banana tree.

I'm not sure what that is, but bananas don't grow in live oak trees.  Most likely chili peppers strung together to dry.

My first impression of the rifle is that it's a Hopkins & Allen centerfire; but then I don't see any "bananas" or horses, so . . . . .

My second thought was that if you put that corpulent fellow in a too-small T shirt and some sweatpants with a few tattoos here and there, he'd fit right in on most American streets today.

Don't know for sure, but think that is a pear tree. Pretty common in that area.

Are we talkin' about the ones who use a golf cart to go out to the 200 yard line and change their targets?     Grin

Rebel - Thanks for the pictures.  Enjoyable to view and interesting.  The picture of Annie Oakly holding a Stevens Tip Up is the first I have known she used this model for her exhibitions
