We need more feedback Jeff on how you fine tune your rifle to obtain it's maximum precision.

Practice.  Smiley

Currently been working on one-shot groups.  75 yards off-hand.  Two shot groups too tough to do and/or measure.  Statistics easy with one-shot groups.

That critter has its Paws Up! Did you shoot it or not? Cool

Hmmmm. Was not wearing body cam, so I'll say it was threatening me with a .45.  Yes, I shot it.  Group size was precisely 0.224" one-hole group.  Verification was uncontested by the local observer.

Interesting that you should mention tin cans John.
My 1915 Fav. can't miss 'em at 200 yards, never have had the need to shoot groups. Shoot right through the pull tab and out the back.
I usually line up two or three, index the pull tabs, and shoot through all of them.
It likes cheap ammo too, just needs a little spit on the front sight.
Not bad for a rusty bore.
No deposit on cans in Florida, probably too expensive to shoot in Kali.

Jeff I certainly improve with practice but my rifle always shoots the same unless I fine tune it.

So Jeff how do you fine tune your rifle in addition to fine tuning yourself?

Gifted my Favorite to my grandson years ago and indeed a fun rifle to shoot. Our Club does not allow anything other than targets posted on the clubs target frames to be shot so I haven't shot a can in years. Walnuts out of Grandpa's trees where more to my liking cans were always quite a bit less challenging.

Dollar store ping pong balls (6 pack) on the 200 yd berm make a fun target. They are made of very thick plastic so they hold up well. Don’t think you could actually use them for ping pong.  If you hit a tad low they jump 10 feet high.

BpJack our 200yd. turkey shoot benchrest target is a 1 inch lifesaver hanging on a piece of fishing line with no backer on the target frames. Fun shooting and our 200yd. offhand target is a 6 inch ceramic tile hung diagonally on a card board backer attached to the target frame. I take out my Schuetzen rifle and about 400 bullets for anyone to freely use and to date no has not won their turkey when shooting it in either event. It has been a good way to introduce the joys and accuracy of shooting a traditional breech seated rifle and being open to the public it is also something not seen by quite a few who come out to shoot the event. All though I have not picked up any new Schuetzen shooters their have been none who have not immediately fallen in love with it and the process they have to go through to shoot it. Most will bring out their deer or varmint rifles and really don't have much of a chance of hitting the lifesaver and when they give up I talk them into trying mine. When they have won all they can, 1 turkey and 3 chickens for each event. The first thing they ask is if I am coming back next year, always a yes and then made aware they are always welcomed to shoot my rifle. Unfortunately we haven't had a turkey shoot for about four years the voulunters who have signed up to run have backed out at the last minute? I ran it for four years and always had a great turnout the fellow who always helped me put out flyers in all the right places, advertised it in the local news paper and also had it announced on our local radio stations well in advance should someone here like to do the same. We also had our local Raley's Grocery store as a sponsor which also helped greatly to make the shoot a real success.

I used to use pennies (.750" dia); then a friend challenged me - he glued ASPERINs on black construction paper.

Necco's make a nice cloud when hit.

We used to try to light the old strike anywhere matches with our pistols.

Shooting flies walking around on the target is more fun  Cool

Damn hard to hit those fly's at 200yds. but is indeed fun trying and I have yet to hit one at that range. Also quite annoying when one lands out there around the 23 ring and you think it might be from your last shot when the rest were going into a nice little group in and around the 25 ring and cause for a breif head scratcher moment in time?

IN that case, one might best use stat calculation for "Drunk Man's Walk" to analyse resulting group
