Poor fellow, I guess nobody told him he was too old to shoot irons😁. The picture shows the crispness in his eyes, sharper than the crease of a drill instructor's trousers. Good shooting indeed.

With age comes a tremendous amount of knowledge and hard earned experience. A truly remarkable accomplishment in my own eyes but to him probably just another day doing what he has taught himself to do it being his very best.

Amen Scott and a goal we should all learn to set for ourselves if still being able to shoot Offhand.

It was a great match. Here is the little blurb from the Bitterroot Schuetzen Society’s Facebook page.

The 2018 Montana State Schuetzen Championship was held this weekend at the Whittaker Rifle Range in Hamilton, MT.  We had 15 shooters show up from across the State and as far away as Park City, Utah.
The hot shooter for the match was Mike Otterberg of Ft. Peck Montana who had a great two day match.  Second place was won by Ted Tompkins of Big Arm, MT.  Third place was won by Pat Bowland, Schuetzenmiester of the Bitterroot Schuetzen Society and fourth was won by Joe Gusehhoven of Arco, Idaho.
We had a 30 round .22 match shot offhand at 100 yards where Pat Bowland, using a borrowed scope came out on top.
A rimfire "King Match" was shot on Saturday with Lloyd Priest walking away with that trophy and the Centerfire "King match" winner was Dan Dutton, shot on Sunday.

All scores were shot offhand.
