	Not until the Winchester 52 with speedlock came along. And the Ballard with Titherington, Hubalek etc barrels held it's own for sometime as well.

It's marked under the forearm by Stevens with, "Rebored and Rifled By J. Stevens A&T .25 Cal." The Ballard is minty, and likely because of the rebore that resulted in it being fired far less.
