Match was another fun heat filled and challenging day with temps. again hitting a 100 with plenty of mirage and ever changing winds. Highlight for the day was Bruce Kirby who just purchased and shot for the first time with no prior load development or bullet choice. A new to him Ballard built by Claude Roderick back in 1974 in 32-40 and what was unique is the barrel a 14 twist 8 groove and a bit fast for the times. Still doing research on who made the blank and the barrel is 1.5 in diameter and pristine on the interior as are the case colors on the action and nice wood. Bruce finished third in the AS match and damn good shooting for the first time out with this new to him undeveloped rifle and true bit of history. Pictures do not do it any justice but all I had on hand it's a very lovely, beautiful and very well kept rifle.
