I use it exclusively in my 38-55 lever gun for a few matches 1:16  26" bbl.  and have had exceptional success - when the cranial rectal inversion isn't happening.
I just finished a 38-72 Win in a high wall (RKS 1:15.5 gain twist 30") and the verdict is still out - the cases had just been fire-formed  and loaded for the first time using this bullet.  In a light breeze 4-5 mph coming from behind at about 4 o'clock  I was hitting the Cape buff at 1026 yds  a high (for me) percentage 7 for 10, the zebra at 885 yds a fair percentage 5 for 9 and then I ran out of ammo  Sad  - twas the morning following the match and the light was good - this wasn't the rifle I shot the match with - should have.

I had one when it first came out. It shot well enough in my 15 twist Badger barrel silhouette rifle.

I did not need a bullet that light, or so I thought, and I sold it.  Later, I reconsidered after turning that rifle into an offhand schuetzen rifle wearing a new buttstock. I got a second RCBS thinking it was the same and it would not load into the rifle. I mic'd it and found the newer one was larger on the nose and would not enter the rifling like the first one.

Suspecting that I got a bum mold, I called RCBS. After some conversation I learned they had a new cherry and in their estimation, had corrected what had been and undersize product. I asked if I could get one of the old ones from them or if one could be made?  They told me the cherry was repurposed (ground) into something else.

Now I would love to have the old one back BUT, with NOE and other makers, I think if I really wanted a 300 - 315 grain class bullet, I could find something.

The point here is, if it a new (er) mold post 2002, it may not fit well in the rifle of choice. Beware.

whoever put those bullseyes on those animals needs to rethink vital zones.
if you hit a buff as marked on that target you could be dead, whatever you were armed with.
keep safe,
bruce.

Bruce,
The vitals as marked are not viable but they give us a reference.  The targets without any additional markings were impossible especially at their respective distances, the gal that paints them does an exceptional job with the natural look, especially the zebra -without the saddle becomes invisible in the mid day sun.
It's humbling.

I shot it a number of years ago in a Ruger number 1 375 H&H. It shot with "ok" accuracy but it was nothing to write home about.

Well, I have bought one from a reader of these posts. He claims exceptional accuracy in his Hi Wall. We shall see.
