Dave I have seen the same thing happen to the alignment pins holes from the CabinTree vice grip style mould handles if not real careful. The ones I have seen do not fit the blocks very well so they flop around a bit to much and it asks allot out of the pins and holes to have to re-align them when closing. I just use the OveGlove when casting it allows me to easily pickup the bullets and place them in my as cast in order block as well as cutting off the sprues by hand. I seen my fair share of ruined moulds from what I would consider abuse or just poor casting habits sadly as it takes a bit of work to make one and they should last several lifetimes.

I have used the RJ Mould Handles which are more consistent at perfectly aligning the pin holes on the moulds I have used.

They are more precise (less wobble) than the Cabine Tree handles.

They are made by Ron Jordan in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada but can be purchased from Shiloh Sharps:

Dave thanks for sharing and based on what you shared they sound like they have all of the improvements the CabinTree's were always in so dire need of that really just being able to keep the mould halves aligned while closing on all of those I have seen. A close friend Bruce Kirby must have at least six and it's all he uses and I will let him know about those you just shared as I believe he is still looking for more.

Dave, thanks for the picture, that looks like a good set-up.

Have about 4 pair of welders gloves. One is used when smelting down lead or wheel weights. That pair is getting pretty grungy looking now. No name brand. Same for the next two pair one is used when casting the other is a spare. Kinda thin in thickness though and although they work ok could be better. 4th pair is a set of welders gloves Sold by one of the suppliers of welding equipment. Much better construction and appear to be considerably heavier in thickness. Used a set of el cheapo gloves initially but they didn't provide the heat resistance I wanted. Frank

I use a pair of insulated leather work gloves to twist the sprue cutter.

Buffalo Arms has a similar mold handle, currently out of stock. Has any one tried it?

If it's the same as they were selling 3 years ago, then yes, I have one.  Works fine for me.
