Nice article Wayne.  Where did you find a 1,000° thermocouple probe?   All the ratings on my Fluke are for 1000° except the probe is 500°  Cry

There are several K-type thermocouple probes on Amazon that will easily reach to 1000° F.  Keep in mind that 1000° F is equal to 538.8° C (centigrade or celsius).  So look for one that's for 600° C or more.  The fluke should be able to work with either.
