My thread on this topic disappeared. After reading the suggestions I decided to do a chamber cast. I found that the chamber length is 2.045, diameter ran from .4165 to .345. The cartridge that I was using expanded from .4165 to .331. It is not sealing. The two bullits I was using were a Hoch 198 gr 1.033 length diameter is .319,.317, .316, .315, .314. The other was a Pioneer and it is too big with a base of .321. The rifle has a measurement across the lands of..321 and a groove diameter of .319.

Do you not mean a groove of 0.321 and a land dia of
0.319"
Oh and than seems like you only have 0.001" deep
rifling. Does not sound right...

Not sure how across the lands could be .321 and then having the grooves much smaller. If you happen to have a guage pin to determine the size of the bore please do so and share it as the grooves should be in the neighborhood of plus 8 thous., larger and 4 per side unless I am totaly missing out on something being shared here.
