Yes I have pin gages and collets. My tube mic shows brass to be close to round but having thick places that I would like to skim off. Taking off a full .001 or more will have my brass on the thin side of where I want to be.
OK, here is what to do:
1. Chuck the body and turn the rim, to true it up.
2. Size the neck, using a mandrel on the inside of the neck.
3. Find a pin gauge that is a light push fit in the neck. It must be a push fit. If your pins are to big or small for that, make a mandrel that fits a pin.
3. Chuck the pin in a good drill chuck or collect, in your tail stock. Of course, check the pin for straightness and the tail stock, to be on center.
4. Chuck the rim in the collect.
5. Oil the pin the pin or use a good sizing wax, like Imperial or Hornaday.
6. Don't run it at more than 500 rpm, slower if it gets warm.
