Norma 45 basic brass questions?

Hi Everyone,
I am slowly running out of Jamison brass and looks like I will have to order some Norma 45 brass but as I have looked around more I have noticed two different lengths listed does Norma offer two lengths of 45 brass 2.6 and 2.88?  And I have also heard that the necks area little thick is this true?  Any information you have on the Norma 45 brass would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Jason

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Yes, two different lengths for Norma .45 Basic, so you have to order by length, or be sure which you're getting when ordering. I haven't found it to be overly thick, but that really depends on how much you shorten it. The more you remove on length, the thicker it is.

I use the Norma .45 Basic in my .45-110.  I get the 2.88" length which after fireforming only needs to be trimmed a little bit.

I have older Jamison .45-110 brass but I can't recommend it.  It came 0.050" too short and is quite undersized at the web.  Only useful for making chamber guides out of.

My 2.88" brass measures about 0.012" at the case mouth from what I remember.

The Norma brass is excellent stuff.

Chris.

If you are loading for the 45 2 7/8 the shorter Norma will likely need to be trimmed just a tad.
The other difference you'll find is the Norma brass will take a bit more powder than the Jamison. I've found the Norma will need 108 grains of OE 1f and the Jamison takes 105.
