"come to my shop and will show you what little I know anytime."

Rodney, few truer words were ever spoken!

I've been humbled by people that don't even understand the first thing about machining or fabricating or welding or gun building, they make a comment that heels me better than I can my dog.

So those of you on this site that say you're of little skill, I'm smiling.  Smiley

On another note, Rodney, is the broach hand operated? not a pass through? do you shim it? cam it? back it off after a cut? are the teeth stepped like a standard broach?  I think I can visualize most but that...

It is a normal broach. I use the angled block to get the receiver to the correct angle and then clamp to angle plate on bridgeport. I use the Bridgeport slotting head and advance carefully till it starts cutting back up and blow out oil again and repeat. a bit tedious but works well. hope to see you at the Tulsa show.

I see it now, I missed that part of your description- I can read, I just don't always comprehend...maybe if I could convert this text to talk I'd get it  Grin

you will, the son and I are making our list of things we need/want, heck I even skipped  Roll Eyes the last two months of my regular gun a month program saving up  - Cheesy.   You know that guns anonymous program, I think it's helping.  Went to a local show today and walked out of it unscathed -

We're driving this time so the baggage thing isn't an issue.
