Unusual German Action

Found this at a gunshow today. Barrel is marked Imman Meffert Suhl. I did a little digging and I found they made drilling’s , shotguns, and hunting rifles, but could find no information on 22 rifles. I will post better photos later, too dark now.
Anyone having any information on these please feel free to post !

I just found out the action was designed by Eduard Grothe and son. I’m not sure if they made the rifle.

Is it some sort of blowback single shot?  Like the Winchester 55 (IIRC) of the late 1950s?

No, pull the action back which exposes the chamber and cocks the action, insert a round in the chamber,  push the block shut and it’s ready to fire.

Digging around I found the German gun collector assn website and Imman Meffert is listed as one of the small manufacturers in Suhl. They specialized in shotguns and drillings. I sent a few photos to the association to try to get the approximate date of manufacture.
