This years Elk, went down quickly at the shot ( 45-70, 405 gn cast with GC) I backed out, approached from the rear and inserted one thru the ribs also. It wasn’t needed, ( pic of first shot placement) but I felt way better on final approach. It’s also nice to know your chosen game never suffered.
