NOE 30 Cal Group Buy

Since the 217 gr, 32 cal bullet that NOE made for us, seems to be realitively successful already, I based this bullet on it and it has the same design features as the 32.

SD is .302 the 32 is .301

BC is the same @ .421

CP = 44.90%, 32 is 44.76%

CG = 41.54%, 32 is 41.55%

Nose length to diameter = .573, 32 is .578

It will stabilize in a 13 twist or faster and may well stabilize in a 14 twist. I've shot bullets as long as 1.19 in my 14 twist, 30 calibers w/o any tipping.

If we can get 10 guy's to sign up, it can be done before Spring is over.

I don't have a need for it, but I would consider one. Just curious, the barrel makers seem to be able to hold groove specs to pretty much right on .308. Was there a reason not to go with a .309 base band? Again, only curious. Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

The main reason for the .310 base band, is to insure sealing the base in a large variety of throats and to make setting the breech seating depth, less a problem.

That can be changed if there is enough call for it.

Joe,

I your case you are a mold collector, remember?  I lost several auctions to you when I was first bidding on 32 cal molds.   I believe you said "He who dies with the most molds, wins!"

Best to just learn how to make your own as I have and then the Sky becomes the limit at very little cost to you.

That's true, Jack, but I also shoot the bullets from my molds. I will win, you can count on that.  Smiley

Just picked up a delightful Paul Jones stop ring mold, lovely, simply lovely.

            Joe.

So, that was YOU!!! ;(

John,
Tell your guys that I would be willing to let go of one of my RL 30 cal if they need a old timey type mold.

Frank,
May I ask why did you not use the more tapered band dimensions of the Ron Long bullet for this Elco offering?
as in:
Band dia from base up:

Elco:310,08,08,07,06,05frontof ogive

RonL:310,09,07,05,04,03,01front of ogive

Seems like the more tapered ron long design
may be more easily breech seated, and still align well

Arnie,
The answer to your question is that this is a Paul Jones type bullet and I kept everything within his latest design perimeters.
