Hi Mike! Glad to see your post, and glad it reaffirms that things will continue at Dave's place in the future! I've enjoyed speaking with Dave over the years, and although I've not used Crossno's for gunsmithing work myself, I've used you guys often for stock work on project rifles I was building, or restoring!
Look forward to the same great service in the future! Thanks for starting this thread!
Great looking Rolling Block! What's the caliber?

Hello Mike,

It is good to know that you have taken over for Dave. I enjoyed conversations with him and appreciated all he did for the single shot sport. I will keep in mind that you are out there and offering services. I wish you the very best in your venture, there are too few 'smiths willing to work on the single shots these days.

Mike, great work on that Roller. I know Dave was very pleased with it, it was his bucket-list rifle. This is just one example of the spectacular work that has come from the shop. I know because I have probably a dozen complete rifles built by Dave and Mike and I can't count how many other re-line, stock, re-finish jobs that they did for me. As a point of interest, I want all to know how pleased/proud I am of every job performed by the shop, and I haven't always been the easiest customer. FYI, ALL wood cutting/finishing, machine work, all fabrication, all metal finishing, EVERYTHING done to repair or build a rifle is done in house. I have have several Rollers that have single-set triggers installed, I'm not anyone else does this work. Also, the shop has an extensive selection of wood for stocks, mild to wild, and I believe the largest selection of single shop rifle patterns on the planet. Note that the stock for #2 Roller pictured above is an exclusive pattern of Crossno Gun Service. I have a #2 Roller that is a twin to this one as well as another one with a Walker Hepburn pattern stock, which is another pattern developed by the shop. I believe that the kind of craftsmanship that has consistently come from this shop should be recognized and applauded. In this day and age, craftsmanship of this level is indeed hard to find. I wish Mike, Brad, and Pam much success as they carry on the grand tradition of Crossno Gun Service.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the post and your continuing the Crossno tradition of fine gunsmithing . All these years I had rifles  in your shop I never really knew who did what, but it didn't matter as it was always quality work. Dave put some absolutely fantastic wood on many of them and not knowing you may have done  the great fitting work. Keep up the fine work and wish you the best! Please tell Pam she's still in our thoughts and prayers.

The .40-65 WCF rolling block that I mentioned earlier was built by Mike and I bought it off this site 3 years ago.  It was one of Mike's personal BPC rifles.  It is one of the best single shots that I have (either past or present). The quality of workmanship in the metal and wood is second to none.  Mike, I wish you the best and will be calling you soon.

Hi Mike.  Glad to see you are keeping the shop going.  I shot with both Dave and Dan Zimmerman at the Tulsa, OK Red Castle BPCR silhouette matches.  Dan built (Number 3 in his production) a 40-65 Hepburn for my 62nd birthday.  That was no doubt the best 10 years of my competition life. What a wonderful time, it could be over 100 degrees with bugs, booms and smoke, and all you could see was grins all around.  Keep up the tradition.

This came back up to the top when somebody referenced it on another thread. I just sent Mr Bassett a text message so maybe we’ll find out something current.
