Yer missing something all right- the bullets were stated a few post later to have been misidentified in length. They're pretty normal length for the weight. A bit over an inch. Easy stabilizer length. 
What magic are you going to provide by asking how many lube grooves or bands there are? Have you got some theory about the number?

My measurements were wrong in my first post and I thought I cleared that up in reply #6. I'll try again.
I have tried two different moulds in this rifle. 
#1 is a Hoch nose pour that throws a bullet with a 1.074 overall length. It is the one that has an area on the second band that frosts up that  I haven't been able to resolve. 
#2 is a Mos spitzer with a overall length of 1.098. I bought this mould new that I love to cast with. The bullets cast with this mould have very small weight differences.
Sorry about all the confusion I don't know where those first numbers came from.

Thank you for the heads-up Don I missed the length corrections and I apologize to all in doing so. I am going to do all that I can to help him as soon I recieve the additional requested information and I will probably choose do it directly. I feel it would help to minimize confusion and to eliminate any controversy as it has not been healthy for this site in the past.

my CPA with a 1:15" twist Douglas barrel always liked the Barnett B2 it weighs in at 195 grains. I Think Shuttleworth still carries a Dave Farmer copy of that bullet.

Thanks 40_Rod I'll make a note of the Barnett bullet.
Westerner thanks for your advise and the picture of the two bullets. The one on  the left looks like my Mos bullet except for the top of the bullet has more of a pointed spitzer, like the top half of the bullet on the right.
Shuttleworth has a Darr mould in their listings that I'm really liking. The Darr has only three lube grooves but their larger grooves. Two of my friends have the moulds and tried the bullet. One lives part time in Michigan and part time in Arizona and with him he needs more lube but it seems to do OK here in Michigan. My other friend likes the bullet now that I broke the mould in for him. The problem is the availability of the moulds. Everyone is behind.
John- I have a diagram of my Mos bullet that I'll send you as soon as I can.

V - 1374 fps
BL - 0.956
Wt - 185gr
Twist - 1:15
Dia - 0.323
Stability Factor = 3.44 Highly Stable
Min Twist Calculation = 15.0 

Is a tapered bullet but I have reloaded it in fixed cases

John Boy -  I tried to look up your Ideal 319272 bullet in the Lyman and Ideal  Ol' Buffalo Mold tables and it wasn't listed. They did show a 319273 and it is a 185 grain bullet. Is it possible you wrote the wrong number?  I'll continue looking for that mould.

It is 319273. I have that Lyman mould. There was also a 319289, also 185 grain, which looked similar. The old catalogs had statements that one required special throating and the other didn't or something like that. I'll have to dig it out.

I have a couple of molds that will frost on one side and have found that by rotating the mold and dipper to vertical  slower than I normally do, does away with the frost area . May be a venting issue but  slowly filling the mold has worked for me.

The Ideal listings show the 319289 mold both as needing, and not needing the throat suited to its use. I don't know why, maybe just copy editor mistake that got through to the printer (for a long time). I have one of the molds and it seats fine in my unmodified barrel, so I go along with the catalogs that say its for those who want to retain their rifles for regular ammunition. 
I don't know about the other molds- does the French bullet have to be throated? The Hudson copy says it needs the throating, but I know some here seat it in normal barrels, right?

It appears that my 319273 won't seat in my CPA without the aid of a mechanical seater.

That frosting is a lately developed thing with that mould. It started doing that a couple of years after buying it. And now thats been another couple of years. It doesn't seem to affect the accuracy any. I just don't like it there and wonder what happened to cause it. The mould looks just like it did when I bought it. I look at it with a 10X magnifier and can see nothing. It just weirds me out.

At the temperture I cast at to help insure I get complete bullet fill out and weight consistency I tend to see a little frosting and it is quite typical and I have yet to find it harmful in regards to accuracy. Personaly I see it as being a postive indicactor and not a negative one based on my own personal experience.
If you have allot of froth on top of your lead pot and I mean allot chances are your allow is contaminated and nothing you can do to correct it short of throwing it all away. I had this happen to me once,
and I typicaly buy my alloy from Roto Metals. I had one 5lb. Bar not corecctly marked that had Antimony in it knowing full well of the effects from it and then describing it they replaced the 25lbs. of contaminated lead and tin alloy in the pot at no charge.
