Many more mid west smiths used “Berg” butt plates than just Berg. Either Berg sold them to others in the trade or they all bought them from a foundry.

Joe, your Berg is indeed exquisite! One of the nicest I've ever seen!

The transition from stock to buttplate on the one in this post is well done, considering it starts with the #6 flat bottom stock. But the perch belly stocks that Berg made are a much cleaner, and prettier seamless transition.
