Anschutz Sport Modell - sloppy trigger
Aug 19th, 2016 at 4:31pm
Print Post
My Anschutz Sport is in good shape but the trigger assembly is sloppy, full of creep as well as over-travel.  I've found some ground springs that fit but this isn't helping much.  Judging from stampings, I'm guessing the build was in the early 1950s.  Also it was built in the Ulm factory.  Is there available information and parts for these guns? Thanks for any help.

Good starting point!  Previously unaware that Schützenliesel wore panties though.

wearing panties on one's head is not a single shot tradition, that I know of.

I'm a little curious about the frog (or Gumby?) riding on the horse with the Confederate guerrilla. What is the book on yer lap hiding?
I saw a couple of Anschutz somewhere- not my place, though. Is this thread drifting?

Not sure what a "Sport" is either, but I'm guessing it might be one of the older "cheap" Garden or Boys-type rifles.
If that's the case, I doubt there is much help for the trigger.
An Anschuetz target rifle, even if from the early '50s, should have a trigger that is adjustable and capable of a decent pull, OT, etc.

OK I've posted some pictures of the rifle.  Hopefully they are readable, otherwise I'll have to find my macro lens.  I don't think the stock is original as it appears to be let for a tapered barrel and this barrel is stepped.  Thoughts?

Blasphemous pic's.  Wink
Try over here: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) The have an Anschutz section and are all about bolt-guns (and other non-dropping block actions).

Your rifle is most likely pre-war, since Anschuetz moved to Ulm after the war.

That's one that is not commonly encountered. It may have had a full length military type stock, but hard to tell if that was it's original stock or not.
There's probably not a lot that can be done with the trigger.

OP   You might want to check with the German Arms Collectors Assn   looks like the single shot 22 rf  Sport "training rifles" used pre-WW2 when the Nazis had not completely disregarded the Versailles Treaty strictures.    there were quite a wide range of those "training/sport" rifles built and the German Arms group probably has info.
I had a somewhat similar rifle if it is like mine the trigger mechanism is pretty basic. replacement of worn pins and a decent trigger job should help a lot.    mine ws really accurate   wish I had kept it :-

JOE    what ARE you smoking in that pipe?

Info taken from their advertisement in a recent issue of the ASSRA Journal    They have been very helpful in researching some of the long extinct cartridges used in German schuetzen and hunting single shots.
