what 45 caliber are you asking about and what purpose for the bullet and the distance do you plan shoot with the bullet
Why?  Profile of the nose matters dependent on the application

Flat may be fine for schuetzen distances, but not for over 400 yds.. Most flat bullet bullets will begin to become unstable the farther they go. Of course that depends on how flat, and how far.
The Snover shaped tip does a good job for me at all distances.

I use two 58 cal Minie Balls.  Original round nose for distance to 500 yards. "Trash Can" flat bulletin for close paper. Looks like a pistol wad cutter.  Both widely used among Musket shooters.
