	Well Christmas came to middle Georgia in June this year thanks to a online auction. Here are a few pictures of the 1925 AYDT, in 8.15x46 norn. I have never seen one with a fluted barrel. Bonner

	I've seen a few with fluted barrels, and always seem to be on higher end Aydts. That one is a very pretty gun, and I really like the engraving pattern too! Congrats on a great purchase!

	The fluted barrels were just a fad that died, barrels could be made stiff without the weight, and were supposed to cool quicker or so some thought. I glad we have passed that 100 year old technology.

	Mine had a fluted barrel. I had one German made target rifle that had raised ribs milled on the barrel flats. That rifle must have cost a fortune even then.

	A more modern fluted barrel. 243 barreled action. I have the stock but it is not finished.

	I'll try and get a photo of the one I have, fluted and a takedown. I'm tryong to get a sense of just how uncommon the takedown feature is but I can't find anybody else with one.

	Nice Adyt rare to see a German schuetzen with a full set of sights. It seems the open sight is always missing. If you want to shoot with a scope, get the Steve Duran adapter so you don't have to drill the barrel. Mike

	My Aydt is a plain Jane, but comes with a matching numbered rear sight. The scope adaptor sold by Steve Earle works like a charm without any adverse effect to the rifle.
