What year did Remington switch from a flat 2 legged primer anvil to the 3 legged one of today?

I can remember buying Remington small rifle primers with the flat anvils in the mid 1970's.

Just checked old stock and all the old Red/Green box primers I have are 2 prong and these could go back to the mid-60s. The early Orange/Green box were also 2 prong and these might be as late as the first primer shortage scare, whenever that was.

It was in the late 60s and at the time shooting at the Brea range many of us had duds with the change and went looking for the old primers.
Even mellow Ray Day was having fits over it.

I bought a large batch of  Remington 7 1/2 primers in about 1971. Back then they were a red copper color instead of the current brass color.  I still have a few of them. Those primers have 2 legged anvils.
