Have never reloaded the 38-55 Hudson 375272 (320gr) with smokeless powder.  Only with black powder

Any recommendations for powder brand and charge?
PS: I'm all out of 300-MP that I was using 16.8 to 17.2gr

Objective: Hudson 375272 - breech seated - maximum distance 200yds
Thanks Kindly

John, I,m at work, & don't have notes, but I was B.S. a Hoch 300gr. in original High-Wall.  I used IMR4227..and now I'm going pon memory from mid 1990's..but I seem to recall around 15-16grs.  My std. accuracy load using a Leeth 250gr. nose-pour with fixed was 18.5grs. IMR4227.

17.5 gr  either 4227 or 4759, you'll be there.  Now you can fine tune going up in grains...if you need to.

Thanks Skalkaho:
4227 and 4759 burn rates are on either side of 300-MP - but wasn't sure of the charge
A full case of FFg is 48grs and the other charge am planning to breech seat
