Cut a case in half length wise with a hacksaw or a side grinder and you will see if worth shooting.

Probably shot in a WWI rifle that had the chamber field modified for trench mud conditions. My 1905 Ross gives fired cases that don't look at all like what went in.

"Generous" chambers were/are pretty much the norm in  Lee Enfields.

Generous chambers and varying groove diameters are normal in Enfield rifles.

This site has lots of Enfield info:

If you are reloading those for an Enfield, I would strongly recommend you check for fit in your rifle and then neck size only. If they don't fit, or when they get difficult to chamber you can partially full length resize until they fit again.
If you have more than one Enfield, it is better to segregate your brass by rifle serial number.

You might try a different bolt head, if you can find one. More on the topic here:

Remington, Winchester and Federal 303 brass all show the dreaded bulge when fired in my #4MKII dated 1949. The Greek HXP and Serbian Privi Partisan 303 are made close to the original design specs and do not show the bulge when fired in this rifle. Plus I think the HXP and Privi Partisan also are heavier cases which means more brass in the case. Velocities for the standard 303 cartridge (MKVII) are quoted at 2440 feet per second with the 174 grain bullet. Frank
