Update on Pope stlye Re-De-capping tool

I spoke with SD Meacham Tool Co. today and they are no longer making the Pope style Re-De-capping toll . They cannot get the castings from the foundries ? CPA does sell their own , however it is 50.00$ more than the Meacham. If Paul Shuttleworth's tool is machined from bar stock then I would pay the 150.00$ . A casting is not worth 140-150.00$ . Thanks

Paul's tool is a copy of a Schoyen tool, precisely machined from SS bar stock.
It's a thing of beauty and a bargain at that price.

I have one of Paul's tools. Everything that Jeff said is true. You can also get interchangeable shellholders.

Paul's tool is also one of the most comfortable tools to use. The handles are long enough so the ends don't dig into your palms.

I did the product review for the CPA/Schoyen tool when it first came out (for the SSR Journal) and while I had been using a couple of Pope style tools from Jake Simmons for many years, I found the CPA to be quite natural and comfortable to use.  IIRC, the unit sold by Meacham came from the Pete Allen foundry... does anyone know whether Pete is still making them to sell himself?
