Have an 1885 highwall with very heavy oct barrel (#5 ?). Has
a false muzzle & Stevens sights. Almost the same rifle is
pictured on p.62 of Grants' Single Shot Rifle book. No set triggers.
Question: It has left hand twist with 9 very narrow lands and
very wide grooves. No markings on barrel top or bottom
except 38- 55 under front scope mount. Need help on identification especially the 9 groove rifling.
