Did a little more looking around and I think I answered my own question.  A little to long, a little to hot, and probably requires a re-barrel.

Back in the mid 60's, there where a lot of rifles that were re-chambered to 32 Win Special by a importer.

Recoil seemed to be the biggest issue.

That importer was Klein's Sporting Goods, Chicago,IL-1950s
As a kid in early teens I drooled over their product ads.
They had offered orig Cadet Martini's , plus:
rechambered to 32-20 and 32 Win Spl.  Also
rebored to 357mag and rumor has it even 44mag.
And they were cheap. but not cheap enough for my
meager allowance and no job.
I have recently obtained a "Klein's" Cadet in 357 mag from a dealer in IL. -otherwise box stock with Aussy markings on the exterior.  Fun gun
I shoot Lyman 358215, 200 gr rifle bullets. Very accurate.

32 Special works OK, but it takes some fiddling to chamber a round. Some guns prefers lighter bullets, which is probably due to twist. Accuracy is quite decent.

I fired one a few times that had been converted to 32 Special. Ammo was factory, recoil was stout.

Good conclusion.
I have several.  A 30-30 that will soon be 7mm International Rimmed (will chamber easirer than the 30-30).  Another that will soon be in 221.  The one most recently in 30-30 WESSON - is perfect for chambering, loading and recoil.

In general it will be cheaper to buy something in what you want than redo one.

Probably the wrong place to ask but does anyone have a spare extractor fo a cadet? I would like th make a rimless extractor fo mine. Have it chambers for 222r now. Would like to get around making cases for it.
