Yep, it always starts with just one, and then they're like potato chips!

Funny how that happens. Started with a Stevens Crack Shot when I was 12 or so. Had 80 Stevens at last count. Not all single shots. Some repeaters. Some shotguns, some pistols.  They still keep accumulating. That's not counting a few other makes.

I have been called a gun crank. This is an exaggeration. I would say merely that I am more interested in fine shooting rifles that the average man. I do not go in for collection guns. I never buy a gun unless I really need it. As a matter of fact I really only need about a dozen, or possibly fourteen, more guns than I have now.

The pictures are a nice start to a collection. Working for Ma Bell, there were lots of rules. Such as, How many drops ( wire to customer ) can you place on a J hook ( pole attachment)?  Our standard answer, One more.      ( wrong answer) but how many guns can you use? Answer. One more!  Maybe a 12 step program would help.  It would at least give you a lead on your next purchase.

Posting pictures here is the equivalent of walking into a "Crack House," and saying "Hey guys, look what fell out the back of a CVS semi."

Single-shot addicts cannot carry cash, especially when at gun shows or rifle ranges.  If he wants to change he has to go to meetings.  No, not Schuetzen Meets!!!

If he is bored have him work on loads or cast bullets, preferably till drops.  Most important, he must stay away from his SS buddies - they're facilitators! Cry

Nah. thats not an addiction.
I tell my wife its prudent investing.
You can only look at a bank statement whereas a high quality single shot is a joy to hold.
Save your money and your kids will go first class!
Regards.

Tried that line with my wife back maybe 25 years ago! Her reply was, "it's not an investment if you never sell them!" Now we just don't talk about them.

I tell my wife that when I am dead and gone and she sells all my stuff she will be glad I was in to guns instead of golf.

Hello, My name is Tom and I'm a Single Shot-aholic.  I haven't bought another single shot for 93 days.  My latest single shot is a Shiloh 1874 with a MVA Malcolm scope in 45-70.  I have two lent out to fellow single shot-aholics and two still being built.  I'm afraid to count the ones in my home.  My ottoman is three shooting mats folded on top of cases of black powder.  There's a case of primers under the cushion of my recliner.  That first little Stevens 22 seemed so harmless.  And NO, it's not for sale.
