canjar trigger for bpcr

Has anyone used a canjar trigger in a browning b78 over an extended period of time? I shoot aprox 300 rounds a month in bpcr and practice and would like to know if a canjar will stand up to that amount of use? LB

I'm curious how this Canjar trigger discussion is going to go as I have a couple of the "78's" that have either got to get working better or they will have to go.  Can anyone out there fix them?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Lee Shaver was doing trigger jobs on them, but unsure if he still does?

are they available somewhere? I have not had one in a 78 but numerous other guns and they are a well made and would not hesitate in using one. JMO

I have a Ruger # 1 that has a Canjar trigger. You can shoot with it set or unset. Been on there for years. I love it.

Thanks, the current trigger is very sensative to to any fouling and if I clean it with rem-oil and compressed air it will shoot a one day match fine. A two day match will often give problems and I have got spoiled to a set trigger. Just wanted to make sure this Canjar is made to last.

bnice, I have seen very few for sale and just lucked into this one. I dont think very many were made. Im talking to a BPCR smith that has put one in a B78 and is willing to put one in for me. Most gunsmiths that work on a 78 do NOT work on a second one.

canjars for Rugers and the JMbrowning/winchester/browning/Miroku single shots are very very seldom seen, if you found one you should have bought a  fist full if lottery tickets the same day

Canjar has been closed since the 80's, the Canjar trigger was used in all the Colt-Sharps and was very advanced for its time. Current trigger makers have picked up the art and the big name rifle makers incorporate their own match triggers and aftermarket match trigger systems into the target rifle lines.
If a match trigger can be worked into your rifle, do it.
