If you was going to build a 25 cal Hornet what twist would you use? What rifle would you build it on? Thanks....

If your looking at competing with it in matches. 10 twist seems like it's the most winning twist rate. Some are even using 9 twist and doing well.

I think my RKS ends at 10". Certainly a lot faster than 14.

When I ordered my .25 cal barrel from RKS they told me that their final twist was 1 : 9 1/2'.

Steve Baldwin re barreled a Winchester High Wall in .25-20 WCF for me last year and he recommended a 1- 10 twist. As I just finished the stock and checkering it, I haven't shot it yet.

1-10 handles the 120 grn bullets fine, I would also recommend the rks gain in case you want to go a little heavier. A 1-14 won't stabilize the heavier bullets that are competitive. I have mine on a Ballard and love to shoot it. Case life has been great and easy on make.

I think I would use a bigger case like the 25-20 Win. Don't have to make cases and probably a bit less pressure sensitive.

Actually these days it’s easier to get good 25-20 SS cases that 25 repeater cases.

I have both the 25/20 and the Hornet. The 25/20 consistently spearheading case heads at the Web. Winchester brass was terrible and Remington was hard to find. With 8.5 grains of 4100 velocities are in the high 1500's and are very accurate averaging 5, 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Huntington has the new PPM brass for $39 per 100. IMHO the Hornet brass is much more forgiving. Just my 2 cents.
