Does anyone know of a south-central WI based Optometrist that is shooting savvy?

I don't know anybody in Wisconsin, but my old eyes recently had cataract lens surgery. While preparing for the operation, I just talked it out with my doctor. He told me that when finished, I'd probably need reading glasses, and if needed he'd get me a prescription pair in addition that would sharpen my view of the sights. Now I have a pair of glasses that serve as shooting protection as well as being my "group tighteners". So, my point is that a regular eye doctor- not optometrist- may be where to look.

Boomer --

An Ophthalmologist is a degreed medical doctor with the letters M.D. after his/her name.  If you are seeking high quality complex eye care, the Ophthalmologist is the specialist, irrespective of whether or not he/she is a sport shooter.  If you are able to present for a vision screening, and communicate and articulate to the M.D. what it is that you are experiencing vision wise and the vision problem/s which you wish to correct, then the Ophthalmologist will then be able to accomplish what it is that you wish corrected or to advise you why he/she is not able to do so.

The ophthalmologist could, in the alternative, be an osteopathic doctor with the initials D.O. after his/her name, but I am not familiar with Wisconsin laws on this issue, so do check that point yourself.

To a much lesser degree, in both education and capabilities, would be folks who are Optometrists and Opticians.  My recommendation is that you communicate with either your state physicians regulatory agencies or national medical societies and request copies of their consumer literature be mailed to you.

Best wishes !
