Anybody seen the Snover tang sight on ebay? Looked to be in good shape except a screw missing and another screw replaced. High bid was $167.50, but did not meet the reserve. Wonder what it's worth in its present condition?
Never mind the mule. Just load the wagon.

Is the sight still up on e-bay? I have an early snover sight and there isn't a lot of parts to them and even if its one of his later models everything is American made so should be easy to source replacement parts. I think I paid over $300 for the one that I have. I would guess that if in good shape a used one should be worth $260+.

I think nobody knew anything about the sight the way they were nickel-dime bidding. They seemed to think it was in the same class as a ArmiSport or
an I.A.B. Early Snovers are fine sights and as good as any currently manufactured high-end sights.

I agree, I have found few faults with mine. What model was the sight in question? an early one with the wind at the eyepiece or a later one with the wind at the base? I have an early one and each part is stamped with a #8, I don't know if that is a serial number or merely a way of keeping track of all the matching pieces? One thing I do know is that I have 2 bases for mine. The origional base fits perfictly and works great. The other base I picked up and the slot in it is not the correct size, its a little big and lets things wobble a bit when the rifle is fired and that causes the lock nut to work loose if you don't keep an eye on it. That is the only problems I have ever had with the site. I think that anyone would be a fool to pass one up at a good price.

I believe the sight had the windage at the base. The description said it fit a Sharps. How old are the Snover sights. The oval head allen screw look new compared to the rest of the sight's patina. I do like the single vertical post. I shoot left handed and the scale looks like it would be more convenient to read. I hope the seller reposts it now that I have some information about it.
