Fred, I wish my rifle looked as good as yours.  What alloy are you using and do you run the bullet in to the lands or give it a running start?  The only way I can get mine to shoot to point of aim is at 900 fps.  Anything faster and it goes 7-9" higher.  Titewad

The bullets are cast in 25:1 and seated just short of the lands. having struggled for years with improving the groups on Martini Henrys and Sniders, it was a bit of a surprise to find a black powder rifle that just worked "out of the box".

About the only thing I can claim is a 43 Spanish Reformato and a 50-70 that's actually a 12.7X44 Swedish rolling block.

I'm sure the 45-70 Trapdoor doesn't count?
