How about a .14 Hornet? By Dave Walker of Louisville Ky. Bench rest barrel maker in the 70's/80's. 11 grain bullet 4600 fps. Sadly no longer with us.

Funny you should ask.  My .22 maximum Lovell has seen some range use this summer and I recently boasted on another board that I bagged the only 'chuck in the USA in June with that caliber.  It was a devastating 150 yd. shot with a 40gr VMAX.  Much thanks to Phil (uscra112) for getting me up and running with brass, a scope mount and sage advice.   Just realized this is a wildcat, not an obsolete cartridge.

My roster:
.22 BB & CB
.22WCF
.22 WRF
.22-15-60 Stevens
.25 RF
.25-20 SS
.25-21
.25-25
.25 Remington
.30 Remington
.310 Cadet
.32 RF & CF
.32-35 Stevens & Maynard
7.7 Arisaka
.35 WCF
.38-45 Bullard
.40-90 Sharps Straight
.43 Spanish
.45-2.6" Sharps

I don't know why it's so much more interesting to scrounge around for (or make) and load shells for long out-of-print cartridges when I could much more easily buy 10 boxes of Wolf steel-case 7.62x39 and blast it up in 5 minutes, demolishing the range targets and leaving the empties rolling around for everybody to trip on, but somehow it is.

For Schuetzendave. Please forgive me guys, when you say you form 8 x 58 R from 45-90 cases, are you referring 8 x 58 R Danish or that family?  Or, the 8 x 58 R Sauer?  Thanks for letting me butt in on this, but I have to know.

Anyone know what other cases share similarities with the .38-72 Win.? I found a couple boxes of extremely old .38-72 primed cases in my reloading room. These still have the old rounded primers in them.
Looked them over to see if they might work as donors to any of the cartridges I shoot, but didn't see anything right off. They're about 2.6" long.
Found about 5 boxes of ..32-40 primed cases in the same box, and they also have the old primers in them. I'll de-prime and use them. I assume they're old balloon head cases, but need to check for sure.

All of mine say 9.3x74, but I didn't make 'em. Came with the rifle. Probably more useful to somebody just as yours are. I don't know if I've ever seen anybody shooting the "foreign" cartridge.
