guess I have to attach a second pic in a new post. this shows the taller "ear" on the off side of the bag. Since I shoot with my cheek solidly in the cheekpiece the taller longer solid rear ear works quite well. Obviously this bag was specifically designed for euro-style stocks.
The muzzle rest used in these pics is not my "good" one but an experimental wooden one---not near a nice or easy to use but it functions, but it does not add the barrel weigh forward I prefer for offhand.  I may try another made of very dense ebony or lignum vitea and brass at some point in the future.

I hope Bullseyetom got as much good stuff here as I did. Thanks you guys. This is the stuff that's good to have somebody to talk, or write, to. Nobody around here shoots this stuff. I actually had a guy tell me one of my "lever actions" was a repeater because it says so right there on the barrel.......Winchester Repeating Arms Co.

I sang happy birthday to my grand daughter Lucy on the phone today.  She just turned four.

A lot of good info was posted here. However, I have found that getting to a match and shooting with some folks is the best lesson of all. If you have a chance you really should.
I'm really lucky the single shot crowd at Ben Avery in Phoenix Arizona have given me some good pointers and have provided me with a great opportunity to learn.

Our group encourages anyone interested in the sport and or new shooters to come out to our matches. We also have several rifles generaly for sale as well. With some prior notice we should be able to get you settled in with the breach seating process and let you shoot some targets after the match. If anyone is interested simply send me a PM. Are matches are held once monthly with the exception of Dec. and Jan. There are some of us who also go out the Friday before the match and at times Thurs. as well if you can get away during the week. One could get in more trigger time on those days or possibly try out a rifle for sale.

J Louis, I am certainly going to try to make the July match if possible.  I am just getting over hip replacement and the end of July I am having the other one done so I will be out of commission until Oct at least.  This has been an excellent learning experience for me.  Thanks to all.  Tom

Thanks John.  What hours do you shoot and do you have a link to the range for directions.  Tom
