.323 diameter 200 grain cast. For some reason I marked the box .32-20 but they are to big and too heavy.   .32 Ideal maybe. Right diameter but also to heavy. So what are they for?

You Don't mention if they are tapered or not if not tapered it is likely they are for a 32 Ideal. If tapered they could be for a 32-40 or any of the traditional true .320-.321 32s.

My 8.15x46R slugs to .317" bore. Sure couldn't use those in my Haenel Aydt.
I think they're for a .32-40 personally. Slightly larger than the usual .321" bullet, but some old guns were a bit larger bore.

Fits the 32-40 protocol to a tee, there were several original rifles that required a .323 bullet or larger. Tapered or not tapered really doesn't have a bearing on what it is for with the exception of being muzzle loaded. I prefer a none tapered bullet for breach seating in my 32-40 they tend to shoot better. One could also get a new 8MM blank with a .323 groove dia.
