I see a 30A and 30B rear barrel sight, and the differences between them are obvious.
However, if you are asking about the 38A and 38B tang sights, the graduations on the uprights appear to be different in range and location, and the angle of the staff relative to the base when in the upright position appears to be slightly different.

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, and the rest who have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

This is from Madis's "The Sight Book". It appears the sight notch is different.

Only difference is the angle of the staff with the base.

The smoke pulls I have for the scale on a 38A show graduations from 0 to 1.75
The smoke pulls I have for the scale on a 38B (which has the staff tilted about 5 degrees further forward than the 38A) show the graduations from 0 to 2, and with a different starting location on the staff for the 0
Makes sense as the increased forward slant of the 38B means you need to turn its elevation screw more to gain the same vertical change as compared to the more upright 38A staff.

The notes and dates on these sights are pretty interesting. And contradictory, perhaps. Note that the discontinuation dates are exactly one year apart. Was that a misprint, or a coincidence? I actually thought that these had been out of production before the dates shown. Surely, the sales would have been slow by the early 1930s. Thanks for posting these, Kurt.
