Bob sled / barrel rest

I have a question about the rules concerning a front sled.
I understand that a fore end can be no wider then 3" on the front rest.
But there is no mention of maximum width of the sled on the front rest.
Does that mean one can use one a 12" wide and have any type of contact with the front rest? eg: tracks, wheels, bearings, rails etc.

ISSA rules hold the width to 6 inches and I believe 11/2 inches in depth and wheels are allowed. You can review their rules on their Web site. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

ASSRA rules can be viewed on this site and can be found in the Annoucment section.

Yes, I was referring to the ASSRA rules which say nothing other then they can be used.
No mention of size, material, or limits.
Was just curious about what the practice is if there isn't anything in the rules.

There was a recent thread about this very thing. A search will probably turn it up.

Maybe this only applies to rimfire rifles. There was some equipment on the line using machined aluminum forearm with T track attached and guided by a T head on the front rest. Thought rules say stocks are to be of wood but I may be mistaken. Also thinking the T track would be a return to battery device. Only an observation on my part of equipment and spirit of the match.
